Birmingham is becoming the salsa capital of Britain as Brummies bring a little bit of the Copacabana to Castle Vale.

A nationwide survey found the city boasts bumper sales of CD and tapes containing the sexy smooth Latin dance music.

Supermarket giant Tesco analysed sales of music and videos in its stores across the UK with some unexpected regional findings.

While we're shimmering to salsa, Scousers are stuck in the 60s, Geordies croon along with Frank Sinatra, Aberdeen folk bop to boy bands while Bristolians prefer "chill out" sounds.
