back on track, asks Mark Brown
When will Glasgow’s Tramway get....for Scotland on Sunday.

For sure, Glasgow company 12 Stars’ work-in-progress based upon Hermann Hesse’s novel Steppenwolf (February 14, 15) is intriguing, and INDEPEN-DANCE’s collaboration with singer Elizabeth Schwarzkopf and the Radio Symphony Orchestra of Berlin (two performances, March 15) is an exciting prospect. However, these pieces do not constitute a full programme of work, nor do they encompass the complete range of performance which Tramway is capable of staging.

The fact is that following the much-vaunted makeover of Tramway, Glasgow City Council’s arts and leisure department just isn’t making the money available for the venue to programme the major and international works which could re-establish its reputation.
