Dance Film Academy

A new collaboration between Arts Council England and the BBC

Dance Film Academy is a two-week residency for directors and choreographers with experience of working in dance for camera.

During the residency five teams of directors, choreographers and composers will develop a pitch for a 30-minute dance film for television.

At the end of the two weeks one of the teams will be awarded a production prize – in the region of £100,000 – to make their film.

The residency will also include a series of masterclasses, and the whole process will be filmed for a 60-minute documentary that will be aired on BBC4, followed by the winning film.
