NSCD joins Conservatoire

The Northern School of Contemporary Dance announces a major strategic alliance with the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA), London Contemporary Dance School (LCDS) and Bristol Old Vic Theatre School (BOVTS) as it joins the Conservatoire for Dance and Drama (CfDD).

The establishment of the Conservatoire in Autumn 2001 under a new government initiative dramatically strengthened access to training for talented dance and drama students in the UK. NSCD and BOVTS are the latest schools to join the Conservatoire alongside founding affiliates RADA and LCDS.

The Conservatoire, funded by the Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE), will give students access to the best possible training at Conservatoire level regardless of their home circumstances. It will prepare them for sustainable careers as artists in the dance and drama professions.
