How to enter
The Telegraph is inviting applications to this year's Catherine Pakenham Award. Set up in 1970, the award is designed to encourage young women journalists aged between 18 and 25 as they begin their careers.
Entrants are asked to submit a previously unpublished non-fiction article of between 750 and 2,000 words by 30 May 2003. The winner will receive £1,000 and the chance to write for a Telegraph publication. Three runners-up each receive £200. Prizes will be presented at a reception in London in the summer.
