See dance for £1.00 at Laban

To celebrate the first Summer School in their new building, Laban are offering tickets for only £1.00 to two of the performances programmed during Summer School (14 – 25 July).

Transitions Dance Company

This is the final opportunity to catch Transitions Dance Company in their 2003 programme. Expect an eclectic performance of cutting-edge contemporary dance from an international selection of choreographers: Luca Silvestrini and Bettina Strickler (Artistic Directors of Protein Dance), Jerwood award-winner Ben Wright, Richard Siegal (Ballett Frankfurt), Bonnie Bird Choreography award-winners Cristian Duarte and Shani Granot; and Henri Oguike.

Professional Dance Schools Platform: Transitions Dance Company, INTOTO, Bird Theatre Company.

An opportunity to see, in one evening, the performance company’s from three of the UK’s leading dance schools.

Intoto, from London Studio Centre, will perform ‘US’ by Fin Walker.

Bird Theatre Company, from Bird College, will perform a selection of short dance works: ‘Skin Deep’, ‘Two Fried Eggs’ and ‘Modelling’ by second year degree students; ‘Like Eve’ by Ed Wubbe from Scapino Ballet; and ‘Pretty Young Men’ from the musical ‘A…My Name is Alice’.

Transitions Dance Company, from Laban, will perform ‘f(r)’ by Richard Siegal

Performances are open to everyone but cannot be booked in advance. Tickets cost £1 and are available on the day of the event from 6:30pm. Tickets are limited and will be distributed on a first-come-first-served basis so cannot be guaranteed. Both performances take place in the Bonnie Bird Theatre, Laban.

Trains from Charing Cross, Waterloo East or London Bridge Stations to either Deptford or Greenwich, then a 10 minute walk

Docklands Light Railway (DLR) to Cutty Sark station, then a 10 minute walk
