dance.tech is a major new initiative from essexdance which will enable dance artists to develop a range of skills in areas of dance and technology supported by East England Arts through RALP.

essexdance has purchased a Motion Capture System to enable dance artists to capture real time movement directly in to a computer, this is the technology behind films like Monsters Inc and Toy Story. Data from the rig can be used instantly in performances through data projection or can go through a range of post production programmes in the making of interactive CD-ROM, DVD or video works, it can even be streamed live across the internet.
This facility will form the first real opportunity for dance artists to explore this exciting technology.
