English National Ballet announced that it has commissioned from award-winning choreographer Michael Corder and composer Julian Philips a new full-length ballet production of "Les Liaisons Dangereuses." The world premiere will take place in October 2004 at The Mayflower, Southampton. The first-ever full-length ballet version to be performed in the UK, Corder's scenario for "Les Liasions Dangereuses" will be freely adapted from the topical novel by 18th conetury French writer, Laclos. Commenting on the announcemenet, Artistc Director Matz Skoog said: "I am delighted to announce the commissioning of Michael Corder's Les Liasisons Dangereueses. Michael is one of Britain's strongest and most prolific forces in classical choreography with more thatn 50 works to his name. This production marks his second full-length commission for ENB. His 1996 prodcution of Cinderella reamins one of our most propular ballets." Choreographed and directed by Michael Corder to a specially commissioned score from composer, Julian Philips, "Les Liasisons Dangereuses" will be realised for the stage in designs by Philip Prowse and lighting by Paul Pyant.
