Professional Workshop with Risa Steinberg

TRIP dance company will host a two-week Limón based workshop with renowned teacher/performer Risa Steinberg. The workshop is exclusively for professional dancers and/or teachers and is designed to engage, inspire, challenge and inform dance professionals.
Workshop Outline
Dates: June 30 to July 11, 2003- Monday through Friday
JOSÉ LIMÓN TECHNIQUE: 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m. daily
REPERTORY / PERFORMANCE TOOLS: 12:15 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. daily
TEACHING METHODOLOGY: 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily
Risa Steinberg
RISA STEINBERG is internationally known as a solo artist, teacher, and director of the works of José Limón. Of her performances in New York City, The Village Voice critic Deborah Jowitt called Ms. Steinberg "One of our great modern dancers." Born and trained in New York City at the High School of Performing Arts and The Juilliard School, she was invited by Mr. Limón to join his company where she danced for eleven years. She has performed frequently as a guest artist and has appeared with the companies of Bill Cratty, Daniel Lewis, Annabelle Gamson, Anna Sokolow, and Danzahoy of Caracas, American Repertory Dance Company of Los Angeles, Colin Connor, Wally Cardona, and Séan Curran. Ms. Steinberg is presently a guest faculty at The Juilliard School, and has taught extensively throughout Europe, North America, South America, the Middle East and the Far East. She has reconstructed Limón works for companies around the world, working with such dancers as Rudolph Nureyev, Frank Augustyn, and Karen Kain. Ms. Steinberg has taught actors at the National Theater Institute.
Tuition: $500.00 Canadian (approximately $340.00 U.S.)
Space is limited and registration is on a first come first serve basis for qualified professionals.

Deposit: $50.00 (amount counts towards tuition) –Cheque or money order in Canadian Funds. Must be accompanied by a Curriculum Vita. Cheques to be payable to TRIP dance company
The definition of professional for the purposes of this workshop is as follows:
Dancers: A minimum of one year paid performing activity, usually following graduation from a recognized training institution.
Teachers: Must be actively engaged in the teaching of professional and/or pre-professional dancers (leading to a professional career).
