Article in the Guardian on the Channel 4 documentary where a kickboxer became a ballroom dancer - did anyone see it?

Quote:
In Faking It (Channel 4) Jo Weatherill, a kickboxer from York, was dancing the rumba with distaste. Mimicking sexual surrender ("I don't get that close to my boyfriend") was excruciatingly embarrassing for her. She seemed to be standing back and thinking of Yorkshire.

Sounds like a great bit of TV. I wonder how they won her round? Perhaps they got someone smooth-tongued and sexy to dance with....like me.

I love 'Faking it' and thought this one was great fun to watch - very very impressed that she made it to the finals. But what really surprised me was spotting another couple dancing in the semi-finals who used to dance in my latin dance society at uni!

That's fun sylvia. I saw the episode the other week when the guy was turned into a drag queen and after very nervous beginnings he was spookily good by the end of it. Sorry I missed this one.

I thought it was very good, but I thought it was a shame that they asked the judges to pick the faker out of only the finalists. If they had asked them to pick out of all the competitors, she wouldn't have been picked.

Incidentally, am I the only person who sees the irony in the BBC's introductory pieces (which used to be the globe balloon?). Those probably add up to the be the most dance shown on BBC TV in the past 5 years!

Hoxy I hadn't thought of it like that but you are probably right.
