Hello, I have been a long time lurker in Critical Dance but this is a first post for me.

Having read through numerous topics, features, interviews etc I am forced to ask the question in the topic "What do you stand for?"

Whilst reading a thread I noticed that the opinions of Clement Crisp (an FT journalist) seem to be against your AUP which I find disturbing and somewhat bizarre. I personally am no fan of Mr Crisp but as a journalist I find it unsettling that what someone writes in the free press is unwelcome. Should we not quote those we disagree with and say why feeling free to do so in this most unregulated of environments?

I only ask this question because I am unsure of what this site is for. What is your position? What is opinion? What is your point?

To be honest I am unsure if this topic is in the right place within the plethora of opening topics, but I would like to know.

thanks.

I'll take a minor shot at that one, although any definitive answer is best left for the site administrators. CD is first as foremost a discussion forum. Therefore, it stands for nothing and everything all at once: it reflects the opinions of its members. Conflicting opinions are welcome, as long as discourse remains civil.

What does AUP stand for?

I am very impressed with criticaldance.com. The moderators are doing a great job of trying to be as fair and cordial as possible and yet being true to their own spirit, based on their own knowledge, experience and psychological port folio. The professionalism and energy that it takes to answer everyones' concern is present and I feel that this is what makes this forum so successful, overall.

Thanks for the question Martin. I think it will be better in our "Issues" forum and i will move it there.
