<BR><B>The Arts Council of England is running a seminar day focusing on the issues involved with working with children in light of the Child Protection Act 1999 and other recent legislation.</B><P><BR>The day has been organised following a considerable number of requests from practitioners for more accessible information on these issues.<P>The day will be facilitated by experts Helen Edwards and Ro Gordon from the Child Protection Training and Consultancy team of the NSPCC. The day will allow time for a thorough discussion of child protection issues, and allow participants to work through the process of establishing a safeguarding strategy within their organisation. The structure and content will follow 'Firstcheck - a step by step guide for organisations to safeguard children'. The seminar day itself is free.<P>The seminar will be held on Monday 23rd September 2002 from 10am - 5pm at the Cable & Wireless Room, Sadlers Wells Theatre, Rosebery Avenue, London EC1R 4TN. Lunch will be provided.<P>Places at this seminar will be allocated on a first come first served basis, but we will consider running an additional day if demand is high.
