Evil Rascoldi (Jacky Crosher), abetted by Stah Power's sprite-like Scrimple, tries to steal a fabulous bird, played by Truman. They are thwarted by Gisele Edwards' Prima Serina and the Warrior Princesses, played by Rachel Hyde and Sue Bruce. Aerialists all, Power and Edwards also edge across a low wire.
But it is never easy to enfold circus skills in a story and though it opens promisingly with a scene in a freakshow and later includes two wonderfully scary beasts, Rubicon seems unsure exactly what it wants to be – circus, musical theatre, sideshow or pantomime?
click for more

[This message has been edited by Stuart Sweeney (edited July 25, 2002).]
