<img src="http://www.motionhouse.co.uk/Resources/volatilecover2.jpeg" alt="" /> Press Release Motionhouse presents Volatile an exciting new production that explores the use of space and dimension … On Tuesday 25 March, as part of Richmond’s Leap into Dance Festival, award-winning Motionhouse celebrates 15 dynamic years with the London premiere of Volatile, the company’s latest work at Hampton Community College, Hampton. Volatile, a stunning piece of high-octane, urban dance theatre - performed on a 20ft wide, 12ft high tubular steel frame by five breathtaking dancers performing at breakneck speed - is guaranteed to have audiences hanging onto the edge of their seats. Devised and created by Artistic Director Kevin Finnan, Volatile features awe inspiring choreography, an incredible tubular steel frame and music that moves from the modern, ambient sounds of Zoviet France and Papa M to the emotional lyricism of Frank Sinatra. In Volatile the dancers take slices of life and the normality of daily events and, with astounding physicality, completely turn them on their head. Exploring the use of space and dimension, Volatile is the everyday in turmoil. Over the last 15 years Motionhouse has earned a strong reputation for the explosive physicality of its work. For Volatile, however, the dancers have undergone rigorous training in aerial techniques under the tutelage of international aerialist Lindsey Butcher, whose work includes performing in The Millennium Dome. To supplement this, and pushing Social Darwinism to its extreme, the five dancers have also trained specifically in aerobic fitness and upper body strength development. Volatile is presented as part of Leap into Dance on Tues 25 March at 7.30pm Hampton Community College, Hampton, Richmond TW12 3HB Box Office: 020 8831 6494 Motionhouse was established in 1988 by Kevin Finnan and Louise Richards.
