For his 30th birthday tour Rocky has had a facelift. Compared with the trashy original, this show at the Churchill now has strobing and fancy special effects.

But some things remain the same. Like nothing else, Rocky Horror has audience participation. The people watching – provided they know what they are doing – play the biggest role in the
production.

'Nasty' Nick Bateman, as the narrator, deals well with the expected audience responses. He shows his lack of experience, however, when the barbs get more personal. Jibes about his acting are ignored by him – but not by the audience who roar approval. From an impressive start his performance goes quickly downhill.
