Then up pops a musical
What does a member of Hear'Say do when the hits stop happening and the Popstars cameras have disappeared? If you're Suzanne Shaw, you sign up for the musical Summer Holiday, says NEIL COOPER in The Herald (Glasgow)

Plymouth's Moat House Hotel might not be everybody's idea for an away day, but so enticing are the views from the balcony on one of the sunniest days of the year thus far, that Suzanne Shaw almost forgets our date.

Being 21, and having already topped the charts as part of crash-and-burn TV band Hear'Say with Pure and Simple, a genuine phenomenon and officially the fastest-selling debut single ever, she's probably got other stuff on her mind. I reckon she can be forgiven for taking a little time out.

Her latest worry is playing the female lead in Summer Holiday, the cheap and cheerful stage adaptation of a film that has become an institution since Cliff Richard was a bequiffed sex symbol. It breezes into Edinburgh this week, an a tour that is on track to wind up in London's west end.

JUST as you start preparing for your own, an all-star cast are set to bring the Cliff Richard movie Summer Holiday to life on stage later this month.

Directed by Michael Gyngell and adapted for stage by Gyngell and Mark Haddigan, the musical is based on the original 1963 film of a group of London lads who hire a bus to tour across Europe.
