I have seen some adverts for a new UK tour of a show called "Dance Passion" by Belinda King. It says on the flyer that it is coming direct to the UK from a sell-out European tour.

It seems to be a mix of all dance styles from jive, waltz, tango, flamenco & latin american - featuring traditional cossack dancing. It's claim is that it will do to Ukraine dancing what riverdance did for Irish dancing.

I was planning to go and see it as i think it will be something like "Burn the floor".

Has anybody heard of/seen the show or know of the company producing it? Any info would be good.

Hi Victoria and welcome to Criticaldance. I haven't heard of this one and on Google this is all I can find, which is probably the same as your handout:

It certainly isn't the fullest description, but it looks as if it is going to be show and ballroom dancing. Another similar ad for a Scottish venue mentions the Cosssack dancers and there was a full length Cossack show in London last year, which featured some fine performances:

I expect Dance passion will be a good entertainment. It clearly ain't going to be a think piece, but why should it?

Hi, thanks for the reply - glad to be joining a discussion board on dance. Sorry for posting in 2 places - not sure where the topic best went!

Anyhow i have booked to see the show in October, so maybe there will be more info out before then.

Such passion in dance sensation
From NorthantsNews

A NEW dance spectacular which gets its British premiere at Northampton’s Derngate next week will be of particular interest to local people.

The sensational show Dance Passion, which has already completed a sell-out 18-month tour of the Continent, is the brainchild of Northampton-based impresarios Belinda King and Lisa Cottrell.
The breathtaking spectacle not only revives the glorious nostalgia of the Hollywood musical but also combines contemporary Latin American choreography with sensual tango and flamenco.
