Post subject:  Dancer code of conduct?

Hello!
Please excuse me if this question has been asked already, but I searched and couldn't find an answer.

What is the "code of conduct" between dancers and the companies they are in?

I am trying to find out how dance companies manage their dancers - specifically if they allow them to be in multiple companies at once, or must they be loyal to one company alone.

Do dance companies make their dancers sign non-compete agreements, typically?

I have a dancer in my company who wants to perform with competing companies in my city. Should I allow this or not? I need to find out what the norm is in the dance world. Please help.

Thank you!

In my experience dancers are often allowed to "guest" with other companies, and if a company is not full-time, I have seen dancers joining multiple companies as long as the schedules do not conflict.

A contract is a contract though. If you want to add a non-compete clause, you should contact your lawyer about it.
