New York City Ballet is experimenting with ticket prices. In the New York Times, Daniel Wakin reports on a wave of patron unrest about seating options and sharply increased ticket prices.

There has been a lot of negative buzz about this. It even showed up on the NPR website. I'm not sure this was a smart move.

I used to get those inexpensive tickets a lot when I was a dance major in college. I wouldn't have been able to afford to go at the prices they got now. So why alienate your future donors? This does nothing to encourage a younger audience.
