Two of the major performing arts facilities in Salt Lake City -- Abravanel Hall (for the Utah Symphony) and the Capitol Theatre (for Ballet West and the Utah Opera) are owned by Salt Lake County. The resident performing arts organizations pay rent to the County, which is now proposing enhancing its revenue by increasing the facilities use fees attached to tickets sold for performances at those facilities, as well as the rent charged to the performing arts organizations themselves.
