Post subject:  Levine/Boston Symphony

In the US, our National Public Radio aired a feature today on James Levine and the Boston Symphony, and mentioned that Mr. Levine has the clocks in the rehearsal hall covered over so that the musicians aren't averting their eyes to see how long it is until the end of rehearsal.

This is quite amazing to anyone who's ever watched the rehearsal of an opera or musical and seen the musicians stop in mid-measure when the minute hand reaches the "12".

I wonder how he got both the union and the orchestra management to go along with this.
