Not exactly sure where to post this, but since part of the article is about impact on other Boston productions during the holiday season, decided to put it here. From Geoff Edgers in the Boston Globe: Wang Theatre and Rockettes give sneak peak of holiday show

On a positive ballet note, I hear things are going well with Boston Ballet's plans for a smaller - though full length - production of Nutcracker for 2004 (to be presented in the Colonial Theater). It is very possible that having a smaller production available, in addition to the large one that will be in the Opera House in 2005+, will turn out to be a good thing for the ballet.

I assume the ballet would rather not have gone through the crisis, but is making lemonade from the lemons presented. Should be good lemonade too!

Sounds like they made out better than Boston. As mentioned in an earlier post in the "BB & Wang' thread ( Holiday Arts Shows Suffer at Box Office) the Rockettes contributed to a slump across various holiday productions in Boston. Josiah Spaulding is probably feeling good about his decision...
