S.J. ballet hires veteran of tech world as its CEO

Ballet San Jose Silicon Valley has named high-tech executive Charles Hart as its new CEO, ending a four-month search for a leader to help stabilize its finances.

Hart, 65, has led several Silicon Valley companies, including browser company MediaAlive and hardware company Micronics Computers.

``He has a very good history in going into organizations that have faced financial challenges and turning them around,'' says Eileen Nelson, a ballet board member who led the ballet's CEO search committee.

Ballet San Jose Silicon Valley has hired two senior staff members, completing its roster through the fiscal year. Donald Gansheimer is the new chief financial officer, and Sheri Frumkin is the new development director, CEO Charles Hart said this week.

Gansheimer, who already has started work, has been a CFO at high-tech companies and is on the board of directors of the Silicon Valley chapter of Financial Executives International. ``He knows a lot of senior executives, and he's a pretty outgoing, sales-oriented guy who I can use for both development and finance,'' said Hart.
