Choreographer Miro Magloire's New Chamber Ballet opens the 2017-18 season with the premiere of a ballet to J.S. Bach's prelude and fugue in F sharp minor. Known for his daring and sophisticated musicality, the Munich native began his career as a composer, having studied composition under Mauricio Kagel at the Musikhochschule in Cologne Germany. On the upcoming program, Magloire includes a ballet to one of his own compositions, along with other repertory works to music by Mozart, Luciano Berio, and Beat Furrer. Dancers are Sarah Atkins, Elizabeth Brown, Kristine Butler, Traci Finch and Amber Neff. All music is played live by pianist Melody Fader and violinist Doori Na.
