Post subject:  A Corona Works in world premiere of "Thorns of the Crown"

Alessandra Corona, a native of Sardinia Italy and former 12-year principal dancer with Ballet Hispanico, presents her A Corona Works in the world premiere of "Thorns of the Crown," by Spanish choreographer Ramon Oller, who was inspired by his early studies of Shakespeare plays while a student in his native Barcelona. Set to a blend of robust Medieval music and original compositions by contemporary composers Thomas Lentakis and Bruno Axel, the dramatic dance/theater work does not tell a story, but rather deals with universal emotions, including ambition, jealousy, and of course, love. Corona will perform, joined by a stellar company of dancers: Mariacarmen Garcia, Michael Bishop, Nicholas Montero, Nick Burrage, and Alexandre Barranco. September 9 & 10, 7:30 PM, at the Sheen Center for Thought & Culture, 18 Bleecker Street, NYC 10012. Admission: $35; tickets at http://sheencenter.org
