Post subject:  Valentina Kozlova's International Ballet Competition

Valentina Kozlova International Ballet Competition (VKIBC) will take place April 26-30 at Symphony Space, 95th Street & Broadway. The event, dedicated to Violette Verdy, who was active in VKIBC from the beginning six years ago, has 134 entrants from 20 countries around the world, dancing for company contracts, scholarships, and monetary awards. The distinguished panel of judges will be led by Andris Liepa and includes Nina Ananiashvili, Charles Jude, Nikolai Tsiskaridze, Martine Van Hamel, Septime Webre, and Tracy Inman. Rounds will take place April 26 & 27 (classical variations, pas de deux, and original solos); April 28 is devoted to contemporary dancers and choreography; Friday April 29 are the finals in all categories; Saturday April 30 at 6 PM is the Awards Ceremony, followed by a Gala performance featuring medalists and guests Daniel Ulbricht & Erica Pereira of New York City Ballet in the Tschaikovsky Pas de Deux, the Washington Ballet's Brooklyn Mack and Kimura Ayano in the Giselle Act II pas de deux, and more. for more information please visit http://www.vkibc.org. for tickets: Symphony Space box office at 212.864.5400.
