Parsons Dance and Gala Chair Linda Stocknoff announce the company’s 2013 Annual Spring Gala, Strike up the Band! honoring the Board of Trustees of the Harkness Foundation for Dance: Theodore Bartwink, William Perlmuth, and Etta Brandman, on Thursday, April 4, 2013 at 7pm at the Mandarin Oriental, 80 Columbus Circle at 60th Street, NYC. The evening, which will be hosted by MC Brett Siddel, will begin with cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, and silent auction at 7pm, followed by dinner and live auction at 8pm, with a sneak peak of a never-before-seen new piece choreographed by David Parsons. The night will continue with the creation of a brand-new dance created on the spot through improvisation with a ten-piece big band, followed by social dancing with the band. THEODORE S. BARTWINK received his BS in Accounting at Long Island University and is JD and Master of Laws from Brooklyn Law School. Since 1968 he has been Executive Director and Member of the Board of Trustees for The Harkness Foundation for Dance. He is a member of the Board of Directors for the Joyce Theatre Foundation and President of the Board for The Early Stages Program for Children - of the Mayor's Office of Film, Theatre and Broadcasting. Mr. Bartwink is a member of the Advisory Board of the Harkness Center for Dance Injuries @ NYU Hospital for Joint Diseases - (Chairman), The 92nd Street Y Harkness Dance Center, Committee for the Dance Collection @ The NY Public Library for the Performing Arts, City Center's Outreach Program, New York Grant Makers in the Arts, Dance Funders Committee, Career Transition for Dancers. He is a member of the National Association of Schools of Dance and The League of American Theaters and Producers. Mr. Bartwink has been honored by Ballet Hispanico, Brooklyn Academy of Music, Career Transition for Dancers, Dance Library of Israel, The 92nd Street Y.

WILLIAM A. PERLMUTH has been of counsel to the law firm Stroock & Stroock & Lavan LLP since January 1997, a partner from 1962-1996, and a member of the firm's Executive Committee from 1976 to 1994. Mr. Perlmuth was previously associated with Cravath, Swaine & Moore (1955- 1961). He has also been a member of New York State and City Bar Associations (formerly Committees on International Law, Corporate Law, Securities Regulation and Municipal Affairs). Mr. Perlmuth received his LLB from Columbia University Law School (1953), where he was a Stone Scholar, Columbia Law Review Editor, and a member of Kent Court and Phi Delta Phi. He also received his A.B. from Wilkes College (1951). Mr. Perlmuth is a Trustee of the following organizations: NIT-Hospital for Joint Diseases (Chairman of the Board 1996-2007); NYU Langone Medical Center; Wilkes University; School of American Ballet; Brooklyn Academy of Music; New York City Center; The Aerofles Foundation; The Weininger Foundation, Harkness Foundation for Dance.

ETTA BRANDMAN, as Special Counsel at Stroock & Stroock & Lavan, has counseled clients over the last three decades on lifetime planning for the intergenerational transfer of wealth and succession and tax planning for businesses. Apart from her practice in all areas of estate planning and administration, she has extensive expertise in the laws governing charitable giving and tax-exempt organizations. Etta both advises and serves as a director for numerous public charities and private foundations, and she has written and lectured extensively on the subject of charitable giving and charitable organizations to both expert and mass audiences.

BRETT SIDDELL has been an on-air personality and producer at Sirius/XM Satellite Radio for over five years, and an award-winning stand-up comedian for more than a decade. He is an actor (star of Chevy Super Bowl ad "Happy Grad" and several films), a voice-over artist (voice of Diet Mountain Dew), and live event host for both companies and charities (Camp Sundown, Our Haven Interactive Communities, Shea's Youth Basketball Association). He recently was the host of the 2012 TEDxBrooklyn Conference at Brooklyn Bowl to rave reviews from both local and national TED organizers. Brett is very excited to be part of the Parsons Dance organization and gala event after he was introduced to a marvelous show and the wonderful cast and crew in Rome in February of 2012.

PARSONS DANCE is an internationally renowned contemporary dance company under the artistic direction of dancer/choreographer David Parsons. Parsons Dance is committed to building new audiences for contemporary dance by creating American works of extraordinary artistry that are both engaging and uplifting to audiences throughout the world. Parsons Dance tours nationally and internationally, including an annual season in its home community of New York City. Parsons Dance includes eight full-time dancers and maintains a repertory of more than 80 works choreographed by David Parsons. Since 1985, Parsons Dance has toured more than 350 cities, 35 countries, five continents and millions of audience members.

DAVID PARSONS (Artistic Director/Founder) has enjoyed a remarkable career as a performer, choreographer, teacher, director and producer of dance. He was a leading dancer with The Paul Taylor Dance Company, where Mr. Taylor created many roles for him in works such as Arden Court, Last Look and Roses. He is a recipient of the 2000 Dance Magazine Award, the 2001 American Choreography Award, as well as, the 2011 Dance Masters of America Award. Mr. Parsons has created more than 80 works for Parsons Dance. He has also received commissions from American Ballet Theatre, New York City Ballet, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, the American Dance Festival, Jacob’s Pillow, and the Spoleto Festival. His work has been performed by Paris Opera Ballet, Joffrey Ballet, Nederlands Danse Theatre, National Ballet of Canada, Hubbard Street Dance and Batsheva.
