New: Sommerakademie Ballett Dortmund
July 25th to August 6th 2011

For the first time, artistic director of Ballett Dortmund Xin Peng Wang is holding master classes, a wide spectrum of courses and intensive artistic workshops from July 25th to August 6th 2011. The academy welcomes dancers from all over the world. It was founded to develop individual skills, spot talents and recruit talented dancers for Ballett Dortmund.

The academy is divided into four daily modules:

[*]Classic: classes, point work, male technique, pas de deux, classical repertoire
[*]Evolution: Forsythe improvisation technique & repertoire, repertoire of Ballett Dortmund, workshops
[*]Variety: Jazz dance, Tap dance, Hip Hop
[*]Reflection: lectures, interviews, dance theory & medicine, relaxation, Dramaturgy, Gyrokinesis® etc.

Artistic director Xin Peng Wang has invited renowned colleagues, famous principal dancers and superb international star teachers to offer a maximum of quality.

The academy is placed in the new ballet centre of Dortmund’s grand park, a unique location situated in the middle of a botanical garden. The centre offers more than 1000 m² of studios, rehabilitation and physiotherapy facilities, a large recreation area including a patio and an exclusive outskirt area. From 23rd July to 4th August 2012 Ballet Director Xin Peng Wang is holding Summer School at Ballettzentrum Westfalen with numerous master classes, a wide spectrum of dance courses and choreographic workshops.

Professional dancers, pre-professional dancers and advanced non-professional dancers from all over the world are welcome.
