Leaping Legs Creative Movement Programs is Awarded for Excellence

Congratulations to Leaping Legs Creative Movement Programs for winning the Dr. Toy’s 100 Best Children’s Products 2009 Award and 10 Best Active Products 2009 Award for the creative movement and dance DVD Up Down & All Around.

Dancer and movement educator Stacey Pepper Schwartz developed the creative movement/dance DVD Up Down and All Around, to make creative movement and dance available to everyone. Utilizing the elements of movement, her video entertains as she motivates adults and kids to get physically fit through movement games, silly exercises and challenges. The goal of the DVD is to get parents and kids, teachers and students, grandparents and grandchildren to dance together and it succeeds by providing accessible movement activities for all types of movers, regardless of age, experience and ability. Steve Blunt, award winning children’s music performer, accompanies the Up Down and All Around movers with his dynamic toe tapping music.

This creative movement/dance program is unique because it was designed specifically to be utilized by dance educators, pre-k and elementary school teachers and parents. For this reason, a comprehensive movement guide is available to use in conjunction with the DVD and can be downloaded off the website www.leapinglegs.com for free. The guide explains how to do each section of the program in depth, what kinesthetic skills are being addressed as well as offers fun variations to the exercises. This is a comprehensive program that will help schools and communities meet the National Physical Education Standards as well as the 5210 program implemented in many schools.

Stacey Pepper Schwartz, creator of the Up Down and All Around program, adds “I am thrilled to bring to families and schools a program that is accessible to all types of movers. This DVD is important because it focuses on HOW we move. Understanding the fundamentals of movement is essential to healthy body perception. The DVD helps people big and small tap into their movement potential, providing them with the resources to develop strength, agility, spatial awareness and non-verbal communication. I am thrilled the DVD is receiving such positive praise which I am hoping will ultimately facilitate more people getting out and dancing and moving together!”

The DVD has also been featured in many magazines including Dance Teacher and Dance Retailer News. In its August 2009 issue, Dance Teacher called the DVD “an essential tool for teaching the fundamentals of movement.”
