Keigwin + Company

The Joyce Theater

June 23, 25, & 27, 2009

New York, NY - Keigwin + Company returns to The Joyce Theater with a program
that features a world premiere and other works from its repertory over four
performances, June 23, 25, and 27, 2009.

Hailed for its witty and entertaining dances that meld uptown and downtown,
high-brow and low-brow, Keigwin + Company presents Larry Keigwin's newest
work Triptych, a suite in three sections that explores various
understandings of time from the mundane to the existential. Triptych
includes original music by Jonathan Pratt. The program also features a
restaging of the critically acclaimed Bolero NYC (2007), which marshals a
cast of 50 New Yorkers to celebrate life in the City. The New York Times
writes, "Bolero NYC was the tour de force of the is funny,
touching and a masterly piece of choreographic organization." The program
is completed by Natural Selection (2004), a theatrical microcosm of
Darwinian theory set to driving music by Michael Gordon, and Love Songs
(2006), a romantic and playful series of duets highlighting different
aspects of love that unfolds to classics by Aretha Franklin, Roy Orbison,
and Nina Simone.

The program will be performed by Keigwin + Company dancers Nicole Wolcott,
Julian Barnett, Matthew Baker, Alexander Gish, Liz Riga, Ying-Ying Shiau,
Ryoji Sasamoto, Ashley Browne, and Keigwin, plus a cast of 50 community
members for Bolero NYC.

Performances are Tuesday, June 23 at 7:30pm; Thursday, June 25 at 8:00pm;
and Saturday, June 27 at 2:00pm and 8:00pm. The performance week is shared
with nicholas leichter dance.

York City. Tickets range from $19-49 and can be purchased by calling
