Be an intern With Career Transition For Dancers this summerSPACE
Client Outreach Intern
Career Transition For Dancers is seeking an intern to assist with Local and National
Outreach Projects in their New York City office.
Responsibilities will include: research on upcoming National Outreach Project
cities; develop marketing materials for outreach projects; assist with developing a
2009-2010 Career Conversation program; launch an online National Career Network;
assistance with Local Outreach Projects and conferences; various tasks to assist the
Client Outreach Coordinator and Executive Director.
Gala and Event Planning Intern
Career Transition For Dancers is seeking an intern to assist with their 24th
Anniversary Jubilee. Responsibilities will include: research potential patrons and
advertisers; proof-read marketing materials; write solicitation letters and
coordinate mailings; assist with event planning and general office support.
Length of both internships is flexible but should be at least three months and will
begin in the summer. Intern should be available for 10-15 hours a week and will
receive a monthly unlimited MetroCard. Will work with programs for college credit.

Be a teaching artist For Dancing Classrooms Northeast Ohio
Dancing Classrooms Northeast Ohio is seeking teaching artists. They will train all
prospective teachers extensively in classroom management skills and curricular
integration, as well as ballroom training in their step syllabus. Find audition

Diamond Group
Since 2004, The Diamond Group is a NYC based CTFD support group co-facilitated by
Career Counselors Anita Lands and Lauren Gordon. This group was especially designed
to give mature dancers an opportunity to exchange ideas, information and resources
about career options, finances, health, housing and other topics of interest. In
addition, the group has presented a very successful Career Conversation and is
currently creating a special arts and education program for targeted

The Business Group
The Business Group is an entrepreneurial group led by Career Counselor Lauren Gordon
and Broadway Performer/Entrepreneur Krisha Marcano. This group provides dancers with
practical business information and allows them to network with other entrepreneurs
and business people.
The group meets bi-monthly on Tuesdays from 5:45pm-7:15pm at

Provides $2,000 scholarships or grants to initiate an academic or retraining process
or to help professional dancers with start-up money for a new business. Please note:

For those of you who are Caroline H. Newhouse Grant recipients or will be by
February of 2010, and are in or planning to go to graduate school in 2010/2011, we
have Good news!
You may be eligible to apply for the Sono Osato Scholarship Program for Graduate
Provides $5,000 scholarships toward graduate degrees in fields other than
performance dance.
The Osato scholarship program was created to help dancers meet the substantial
financial commitments that come with the pursuit of a graduate-level degree. Areas
of graduate study supported by the scholarship include professional degrees (law and
medicine), the medical arts (nursing, physician's assistant, physical therapy,
etc.), the helping professions (social work, counseling, psychology, creative arts
therapies, etc.), physical and social sciences, education, business and the
