This is your last chance to experience sub-Rosa in Seattle, and there will be a live
performance plus tunes by DJ Dead Air, a raffle and post show dancing.

In sub-Rosa, Wong creates "a world of disorienting shadow-play, nervous double-takes
and cryptic messages so enticingly delivered, you wouldn't really want them to be
decoded." The Seattle Times

Malaysian-born and Seattle-based choreographer Cheronne Wong brings her company to
Joyce SoHo for the NYC premiere of sub-Rosa, a multimedia project investigating
covert communication in a rich environment of electric dancing by 4 performers,
stunning visual landscapes by video artist John Pai and sculptor Dave Stevenson, and
otherworldly soundscore by composer Amy Denio.

Cheronne Wong (choreographer), originally from Malaysia, has been choreographing in
Seattle since 1999. Her work has been produced at many local venues including On
the Boards, King County Performance Network, Seattle Asian Art Museum and Western
Washington University. Her company has toured/taught nationally and internationally
at Jacobs' Pillow Dance Festival (MA), Mulberry Street Theater and Judson Church in
NYC, Wexner Center (OH), and National Arts Academy (Malaysia). She has received
commissions/residences from Mulberry Street Theater (Jerome Foundation), NWAAT,
Centrum Arts, Aono Jikken Ensemble; and grants from 4Culture, Office of Arts and
Cultural Affairs, Bossak/Heilbron and Allied Arts. In 1996, she moved to Seattle
after dancing in NYC for several years. She's had the pleasure of performing in the
works of several choreographers including Pedro Alejandro, Pat Graney Dance Company,
Mark Dendy, Sarah Skaggs and Chen and Dancers. In 2004, she was one of ten artists
selected to participate in the pilot year of the Pacific NW Dance Lab sponsored by
the New England Foundation for the Arts. She is a founding partner of Open Flight
Studio - a collectively-managed dance studio in the University District, Seattle.

The creation of sub-Rosa was funded by the Bossak/Heilbron Charitable Foundation,
4Culture and the Office of Arts & Cultural Affairs, City of Seattle. For more
