MIRO MAGLOIRE'S NEW CHAMBER BALLET BEGINS ITS 2006-07 SEASON WITH TWO WORLD
PREMIERES BY MIRO MAGLOIRE AND GUEST CHOREOGRAPHER CONSTANTINE BAECHER, MEMBER
OF ROYAL DANISH BALLET

Saturday September 23, 8 PM
City Center Studio 4, 130 West 56 Street (between 6th & 7th Avenues)
Tickets: $20; $10 for students & seniors

Miro Magloire's New Chamber Ballet begins its 5-performance, September-June
2007 series at the City Center Studios, with a September 23rd program that
includes world premieres by Magloire and guest choreographer Constantine Baecher,
and live musical accompaniment by violinist Erik Carlson and pianist Melody
Fader.

Magloire's as yet untitled premiere is set to music by 20th century Italian
composer Luigi Dallapiccola, and was conceived as a companion piece to his
recent Silk. Transforming the movements of the earlier ballet, it reconfigures
them into a pas de deux for Damien Johnson and Lauren Toole.

Also receiving its world premiere is Terzetto by New England native
Constantine Baecher, trained in Germany and currently a member of the Royal Danish
Ballet. Set to Etudes by Alexander Scriabin, performed live by Melody Fader, the
work was conceived as a portrait of the three performers: Elizabeth Brown,
Christin Hanna and Denise Small. This is Mr. Baecher's second work for the
Company

The program will also include a repeat performance of Miro Magloire's Spring,
set to music by Mozart, created as part of a tribute on the 250th Anniversary
of the composer's birth. The trio will be danced by Elizabeth Brown,
Christin Hanna, and Damien Johnson.

More About the Company
New Chamber Ballet performs original works of contemporary ballet with live
music in simple, intimate settings. Founder/director is Miro Magloire, a
native of Munich who has studied modern dance in New York at the Ailey and Graham
Schools, and ballet with Peff Modelski and Wilhelm Burmann. Magloire's
sophisticated musicality is evident in his works - his early training was in piano
and composition, and at age 17 he was awarded the "Forum of Young Composers
Award' in his home state of Rhineland-Westfalia. His own music compositions were
presented at festivals across Europe and broadcast on national German radio.
Members of New Chamber Ballet are Elizabeth Brown, Damien Johnson (studied at
SAB on scholarship and danced with DTH and American Repertory Ballet),
Christin Hanna (formerly with Oakland Ballet and Ballet NY), Denise Small (formerly
Kansas City Ballet and Pennsylvania Ballet), and Lauren Toole (formerly New
York City Ballet and Berlin Staats Ballett, directed by Vladimir Malakhov).
