Dance On Camera Festival is the oldest annual dance film/video
festival in the world. Initiated to foster creativity and encourage

collaborations between dancers and film makers, the Dance On Camera
Festival has been co-sponsored by the Film Society of Lincoln

Center since 1997 and has toured to over 50 venues internationally,
32 venues in 2006.

What we are looking for: We seek strong synergies of dance and film,
whether it be a dance made for the camera, documentary,

adaptation of a stage work or site specific creation. We also welcome
animation, narratives, and works in which the kinetic energy and

rhythmic design comes solely from the editor or lighting designer.
Dance films can be driven from the prime perspective of dance,

cinema, visual arts, or in the case of documentaries, information. We
accept works that have not been shown in the Dance on Camera

Festival before, or shown in New York City before. Our host venue
prefers to present only New York Premieres.

The Film Society of Lincoln Center maintains a prominent position
within the international film network as a discerning, innovative

exhibitor. The Film Society produces the annual New York Film
Festival, a Gala Tribute to a distinguished film artist, co-produces New

Directors/New Films with the Museum of Modern Art, and publishes the
bi-monthly magazine Film Comment.
