thursday august 3 CALL FOR DANCERS 10 dancers (5 male/5 female) needed for a
"Tribute to Katherine Dunham" at Miller Theatre on September 16, 2006. "Tribute to
Katherine Dunham" will form the centerpiece for Tapestry of World Dance, a joint
production of Dance Source Houston and Central College World Dance Institute.
Auditions will be held at the Central College Dance Studio, Theatre One, 3517 Austin
Street, at 7:00pm. Carlos Henderson, choreographer, is looking for strong dancers,
preferably with knowledge of Dunham technique. The dance will be set in one
weekend; rehearsals will be held at the HCC Central Dance Studio. Dancers must be
available for all rehearsals. Dancers will receive a performance stipend of $50.00.

NEW EarthDance in Houston 06. Houston Dancers and dance companies are invited to
participate in the Opening Community Dance Ceremony for EarthDance on Saturday
September 16. A Global Dance & Music Festival focused on a Synchronized Prayer for
World Peace, it will bring the Houston community together with the rest of the World
for dancing, drumming, water blessing, vegetarian feast, face painting, fairies,
costumes, & world music of ATASH, honoring the Native American Tribes. Opening

The International Stars of Cuban Ballet. McAllen Ballet. Under the direction of
Lazaro Carreño (Houston Ballet) and Richard d'Alton (McAllen Ballet), the
star-studded gala will showcase Cuban dancers that are now Principal Dancers and
Icons in major ballet companies around the globe, including Boston Ballet, San
Francisco Ballet and Miami City Ballet. The evening will include numerous classical
Pas de Deuxs such as Don Quixote, Black Swan, Le Corsaire, Diana & Acteon, Spring
Waters, White Swan and Sleeping Beauty, and will also feature contemporary works by
some of the world's greatest choreographers including Ben Stevenson (Texas Ballet
