PRESS RELEASE
12.07.06 IMMEDIATE

YOUR CHANCE TO BE UP ON THE BIG SCREEN WITH YOUR FAVOURITE PIECE OF
MUSIC!!!

On Saturday 22 July the crowds in Exchange Square, Manchester will be
raising an eyebrow as their fellow citizens appear in close up on the
city’s Big Screen. Yes, the good people of Greater Manchester will be
Facedancing for the Urban Moves International Festival with Big Dance
2006.

What is a Facedance? It's dancing with your face, of course! Everyone
listens to music and dances in their head and Facedances are video
portraits of people from all and any walks of life listening and
dancing with their faces to their favourite pieces of music.

Your chance to join in. From 11am – 3pm on Saturday 22 July the film
unit will be open for Facedancing! Bring along a CD with a favourite
piece of music to the Facedance House in Cathedral Gardens (you’ll see
us in a shop window of The Triangle Shopping Centre, overlooking the
gardens), or check in at the information desk on Exchange Square. The
portraits will be edited to appear on the Big Screen.

The variety of people, performers and public, of different age, gender,
and background and their wide-ranging choice of music makes each
Facedance unique, surprising and unpredictable. Together they build a
rich portrait of a city.

Facedances celebrates the expressive power of the face and the everyday
uniqueness of us all, high brow, eyebrow and low brow included!
