Lori Belilove & Company, resident performing company of the Isadora Duncan Dance
Foundation, to perform Victorian Rebels at the Alice Austen House on Staten Island
on July 29th at 6:30 P.M.

Lori Belilove & Company, an internationally acclaimed modern dance company, will
honor dancer Isadora Duncan and photographer Alice Austen with Victorian Rebels, a
program of dances on themes of nature. The outdoor performance will be on the
grounds of the Alice Austen House with a view that stretches from the Statue of
Liberty to lower Manhattan, Brooklyn, and the Verrazano Bridge. The Alice Austen
House is located at 2 Hylan Boulevard, Staten Island, New York.

Lori Belilove & Company will perform solo and group works from the Duncan repertory
revealing the life and unique artistry of Isadora Duncan, the mother of modern
dance. The program offers a window into the life and art of the legendary artist and
unfolds Isadora's dances centered around themes of nature, a subject that she shared
with Alice Austen. Alice Austen was one of the first women photographers in this
country to work outside the confines of a studio. She also worked in realistic
documentary, a style of photography unusual until the 20th century. With a natural
instinct for photo-journalism some forty years before that word was coined, she saw
the world with a clear eye and photographed the people and places in it, as they
actually appeared, giving us a visual record of more than fifty years of social

Lori Belilove and her company of exquisitely trained Duncan dancers have established
themselves as the leading interpreters of the dance of Isadora Duncan. As the
resident performing company of the Isadora Duncan Dance Foundation in New York City,
