Persbericht: Koor Concert--GRATIS!
Another world-class Philippine choir is coming to The Hague to showcase the
best of Philippine choral music, and they come here with a good cause.
The multi-awarded Ateneo de Manila College Glee Club, Asia's oldest choir,
led by Philippine Madrigal Singers alumna Maria Lourdes Hermoso, has
brought 37 voices to Europe with a varied choral repertoire and a mission
to raise awareness about the plight of Manila's street children. The
Virlanie Foundation, the Glee Club's beneficiary for this international
tour, is a foundation dedicated to providing developmental services to
victims of child prostitution, unwed mothers, children in jail and other
less-privilidged children. They build homes, give legal assistance, and
initiate various support programs within the communities of Manila's urban
poor. The choir will give a concert on the 30th of July, Kerk van Onze
Lieve Vrouw, Bezuidenhoutseweg 157, 2594 AG Den Haag, 12:00, shortly after
the Sunday service, free of charge. Philippine snacks, meals, and
refreshments will be provided at a minimal price. The choir will also be
participating during the Masses on the 29th, Saturday evening, and on the
Sunday morning. contact:
