LEMMING
2005 / 129 min / French w/English sub-titles
Spooky, intellectually titillating and darkly funny pic is definitely the kind of
film where the less you know going in, the better. It's not so much that there are
twists that shouldn't be revealed prematurely -- although there is one such
zinger. Rather, the entire venture is an accretion of odd behavior intermingled
with level-headed behavior until something (or several somethings) has got to
give.

Wednesday, July 26, 8:00 pm
Saturday, July 29, 9:30 pm

READ MY LIPS
2001 / 105 min / French w/English sub-titles
Carla, a long-time employee, loyal and hardworking, first to arrive and last to
leave, is beginning to chafe at the limitations of her career. But at 35 and with
a hearing deficiency, she is not sure how to climb out of her humdrum life. Into
her life comes Paul, a new trainee. He is 25 and completely unskilled, but Carla
covers for him when the need arises because of his other qualities - he's a thief,
fresh out of jail and very good-looking. It's a case of good meeting bad.

Friday, July 28
7:00pm, Soiree prior to the screening of READ MY LIPS, join us for a Soiree on the
Pool Deck of New River Landing (immediately behind Cinema Paradiso). Tickets
(which include the screening of READ MY LIPS) are $15 for members and $20 for

super casual…be cool, dress cool.

8:00pm Showtime

Film also shows Sunday, July 30, 8:00 pm

RED LIGHTS
2004 / 106 min / French w/English sub-titles
Based on the novel by George Simenon, Red Lights is an edge-of-your-seat-thriller
in the tradition of Alfred Hitchcock. On his way to a family event a man has too
many drinks, quarrels with his wife, gives a lift to a stranger, and finds himself
in a mysterious maze of trouble. Strange, scary, and atmospheric, with a delicious
Claude Debussy score.

8. Senses of Cinema-Shelly Isaacs
Posted by: "William" timoria63@yahoo.com timoria63
Date: Mon Jun 26, 2006 11:00 am (PDT)

Next Week, Senses of Cinema at Sunrise Cinemas presents Kontroll, an internationally
acclaimed award winning debut by Hungarian director Anal Nimrod. Below is a brief
synopsis and schedule. Looking forward to seeing you at the movies.
Shelly Isaacs

KONTROLL
2003 - Hungary - Nimród Antal
June 27, 2006 at 7 PM - Intracoastal 8
June 28, 2006 at 7 PM - Sunrise 11
June 29, 2006 at 7 PM - Mizner8
The massive labyrinthine netherworld that is the Budapest subway system provides the
stunning setting for 'Kontroll,' a high-style, high-speed romantic thriller in which
the lives of assorted outcasts, lovers, and dreamers intersect and collide. One
handsome young hero, one mysterious maiden, and one particularly nasty killer must
conduct a race against time, trains, and destiny itself in their frantic pursuit of
one another.

"Kontroll is that singular success, a thoroughly satisfying, rambunctious
entertainment that also subtly works on philosophical and spiritual levels." - Kevin
Thomas, LA Times

"As a group of episodes, the movie keeps our interest not by linear plot, but by
finely drawn characterizations." -Richard Nilsen, Arizona Republic

"There must be a lot of smart people out there in America ready for a youthful
explosion of talent and temperament. This is their picture." David Denby, New Yorker

11. Laurie Oudin & Dana Keller Luna Star July 1
Posted by: "William" timoria63@yahoo.com timoria63
Date: Mon Jun 26, 2006 11:16 am (PDT)

THE FOLK CLUB OF SOUTH FLORIDA
Acoustic Underground Concert Series
Presents

LAURIE OUDIN and DANA KELLER

Two of South Florida's finest folk and acoustic musicians will give us a full
evening of their talents. Very few of our local performers have the depth of
experience of Laurie and Dana which includes many genres and traditions.

Laurie Oudin spent her early years in New York City as a Shakespearean
actress (foresooth!) before taking up the guitar and exploring the world of folk
singing and songwriting. Laurie is best known as the proprietress of Main Street
Cafe, which, prior to its recent closing, was considered one of the finest acoustic
venues in the country. Laurie has performed around South Florida for the past
several years in festivals, parties and house concerts. She is also known as the
lead singer for the rock/blues band 'The Pathfinders' as well as for the classic
country and Americana band 'The Ramblers'.

Dana Keller is a veteran dobro, pedal steel, lap steel and guitar player who
has spent years performing or doing studio work with the likes of Vince
Gill, Ricky Skaggs, Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, Johnny Rodriguez and The
Allen Brothers, to name a few. He has graced the stage and opened for,
among others, Spirit, Pure Prairie League, Gordon Lightfoot, Waylon

novelist he aimed to be he must be content with little jobs such as reporter or
ghost writer. His greatest "achievement" in "literature" is his collaboration to
the script of a corny TV soap ! His sentimental life is not much better, rhythmed
by one night stands and unfinished romances. It looks as if when he seduces a
woman beautiful outside and inside such as Kassia or Wendy he can't keep them.

· LEMMING
2005 / 129 min / French w/English sub-titles
Spooky, intellectually titillating and darkly funny pic is definitely
the kind of film where the less you
know going in, the better. It's not so much that there are twists that
shouldn't be revealed prematurely --
although there is one such zinger. Rather, the entire venture is an
accretion of odd behavior intermingled
with level-headed behavior until something (or several somethings) has
got to give.

Saturday, July 29, 9:30 pm

edge-of-your-seat-thriller in the tradition of
