Because there have been so many tragic stories lately, I thought I'd share an experience from the other side:

We had quite a bit of snow yesterday.

When I got home from teaching my Lighting Design class (this is how it relates, however tenuously, to dance) at about 9:00 last night, I discovered that someone -- I have no idea who -- had shoveled and salted my driveway.

How wonderful!!!

When I lived in New Jersey, I lived next to a guy who had AIDS. We used to shovel his sidewalk for him when it snowed, 'cause he was cool, and couldn't, and we could. Nice to hear other people are carrying on the tradition.
