Ulysses Dove wrote 'Dancing in the Front Porch of Heaven: Odes to love and loss' for the Royal Swedish Ballet, premiere was 29 April 1993. Music Arvo Part's Cantus in Memoriam Benjamin Britten. Cast Marie Lingqvist, Judith Simon, Anna Valev, Brendan Collins, Jan-Erik Wikstrom and Goran Svalberg.

Dove is quoted as saying, "To me Arvo Part's music can send souls to heaven. I want to tell an experience in movement, a story without words, and create a poetic monument over people I loved. I am a perfectionist and when there are fantastic dancers, as here in Stockholm, I have to use their absolute maximum capacity."

It has recently been revived. I have seen the video and was delighted to see it in the flesh. My review is in the April 2005 Dance Europe.
