This is an excerpt from Allan Ulrich's article about a new Canadian documentary on Netherlands Dance Theater 3:

quote:
Canadian PBS documentary of Dutch troupe proves true artistry is ageless
You could call "Can't Stop Now" heartwarming, if it weren't so marvelously entertaining; those qualities are not, it would seem, mutually exclusive. This one-hour 1998 Canadian video documentary of Netherlands Dance Theater 3, a chamber company of senior performers, arrives on public broadcasting this week; Channel 9 airs it Wednesday at 8:30 p.m. as part of the "Great Performances" series.

Read the SF Examiner article

Saw this group in Seattle a few years ago...dancers were awesome...choreography was soso. My absolute favorite-"No Sleep Till Dawn of Day " with Martine vanHamel (one of my all time favorite dancers)and Sabine Kupferberg. It is so inspiring to see dancers who are over 40 (and a few quite a bit older) still attaining artistic heights. It's nice to see Jiri Kylian values the maturity and artistry of mature perfomers. If only we could clone this attitude onto American culture!!

I'm with you on that one, Trina. Sometimes there's more to "see" in a body that has a heart, mind, and soul that's been seasoned.
