Vote for August/September image

Hi Folks!Many thanks to everyone who contributed photos for our August/September front page image. The criticaldance team has looked at the images on offer and selected the following short list for you to consider.Please tell us which you prefer, giving the letter. We'd be delighted if you told us your reasons as well.When we have an image selected I will contact the Company or photographer to seek the necessary permission.Over to you:

C) photo - Laurent Ziegler; dancers from Leipziger Ballet. To be trimmed to fit the front page. D)

To start the ball rolling I'm going for A) in a close run thing between all three. It's because of the mix of traditional ballet technique and contemporary aesthetic.Later I've changed my mind. Ever the anticonformist: BThe poor dear is rubbing her toes, and it does convey the soreness of pointe work...I don't like A much, personally. There was another I liked (maybe the first up?) better. I'll go for 'D' now...[This message has been edited by Red Shoes (edited July 19, 2001).]

I agree with Red Shoes I liked the other one that was first put up. "A" to me looks "tweaked" not technically correct. So, if we can't have the first one put, I will again go with Red Shoes, and go for "B".with thanks to the emergency meeting of the photo selection committee...I vote for "D"[This message has been edited by Basheva (edited July 18, 2001).]

The selection committee has gathered in an emergency session and after a 'full and frank debate' the Dance Theatre of Haarlem image has been included in the list above as D).Those who have already voted are allowed to change their vote by using Edit, the button with the pad and pencil at the right, above your post.

Ok I prefer C the strong contrast of the black and white combined with the softness and tenderness of their lines does it for me.I don't like A - too stark for my liking. [This message has been edited by Joanne (edited July 18, 2001).]

I like A and C myself. I like the colors and shapes of A, and the softness of C. I don't really like B because she isn't dancing...
