I've just found this site by complete accident and have spend the last two hours completely absorbed in it. So i've decided to join up and chat to you all. (l am supposed to be writing an essay but this is far more interesting). Hope to speak to you all at some point in the future.
Sweets Image

I still haven't started the essays yet(oops)! There's one about Motionhouse dance company who are based in England i've had to research the company and then write two papers on them.
The other essay is about Mark Morris dance company and i have to consider how the representaion of gender in his work can be said to follow modernist or postmodernist priciples???????
Where to start! I still need to do loads of reading up yet but keep getting carried away on the net finding new things.

Sweets....welcome to crititcaldance! The best, most comprehensive book about Mark Morris is by Joan Acocella. I'm not sure if you want articles or books. The New York Times has done quite a few articles on him in recent years. Maybe you can do a web search into their archives..but I think they do charge a fee for archived articles.

Sweets - we also have a number of threads on Mark Morris at this site - you can do a search. It is at the top of the board page.
